Content Tools | 3 Posting Schedules You Need To Try To Grow Your Audience Online

How often should you post? The age old conundrum of every business owner and content creator using social media platforms.

It's not so much how often you post, the onus is on the quality of content + the current investment of the audience you already have PLUS enough WOW factor to encourage potential followers to use your page as a resource for their particular interests. You need to start considering the following:

  • Have I planned content that is valuable to my audience?

  • How much time do I have to create the number of posts I want to post?

  • Are my posts focused on offering a solution to my audiences' problems?

Your growth is directly correlated to your goals, and there’s loooads of ways to grow on Instagram: you just need to decide which goal you’re gonna focus on.

Firstly, ask yourself WHAT you actually want to achieve from your posting strategy.

It’s 👏🏼 not 👏🏼 just 👏🏼 about 👏🏼 followers

… because 10000 disengaged people ain’t gonna bring the sales in 🤪

👉 Here’s some examples of clear goals you could consider in order to choose a post strategy that is tailored towards your end result.

  • Reach more people who are genuinely interested in your service / product - try creating reels that show how you are the solution to their problems.

  • Increase website clicks - focus on story engagement, using the integrated tools like adding a link or offer something for free with a sign up link in your bio to get more eyes on your website

  • Nurture your current audience - start engaging with them. Especially in your stories and on their page and their content. The best relationships begin in your DMs. Go say hello to your followers and start learning what they want

But ... how often should you post? Well it all depends on the goal you decide:

  • Do you want to maintain your presence online

  • Do you want modest growth

  • Do you want to accelerate your growth

Here's the 3 posting schedules I recommend and use for my Social Media Management Clients. You can apply these proven strategies, which one you choose is simply dependent upon how much time and creativity you are willing to invest in your growth strategy.

Here's each posting schedule strategy broken down:

MAINTAIN YOUR PRESENCE - to stay relevant.

For content creators and businesses with limited time to create

  • 1 reel per week - quality reels can get new eyes on your page if you apply them correctly

  • 2 Carousels / Photo Dumps - an information focused carousel can offer value to current audiences, encourage them to save the information for later use. A photdump works well for services where products / client before and after transformations showcase your work

  • 2-3 Stories - don't over do the stories, use the tools provided by Instagram to keep your current audience engaged such as a poll or a q+a.

  • Reply to comments + DMs - if you're not doing this, then you are really missing the trick. At this strange of invested interest your follower is almost committed to a sale or are very much invested in you and your business

MODEST GROWTH

For content creators and businesses who want to grow steadily

  • 3 reel per week - focus on creating wow factor reels that stop the scroll. Utilise transitions, audios and edu-tain your audience

  • 1 Carousels / Photo Dumps - make this a weekly thing eg. Your Weekly <insert topic> news / tip / trick / tool

  • 3-4 Stories - Share an update, do a Q+A, encourage your audience to engage with your story posts

  • Reply to comments + DMs - the best sales happen in your DMs, if a follower has reached out, use the opportunity to nurture your relationship

  • 2 hours per week engaging - this includes commenting on posts in your niche, participating on other accounts and celebrating your followers posts

ACCELERATED GROWTH

For content creators and businesses who want to grow quickly

  • 5 reel per week - stay ahead of the curve and recreate trends from Til Tok, make reels that correlate to your content pillars. Mine are: tips, transitions, tutorials, trends and tools that my audience can apply to their content creation

  • 1-2 Carousels / Photo Dumps - carousels hold attention for longer: create a catchy hook for your grid, offer steps or value on each slide with prompts to swipe and finally SAVE the content

  • 4-5 Stories - stick to one a day, make sure it's something relevant and of value to your current followers.

  • Reply to comments + DMs - the best sales happen in your DMs, if a follower has reached out, use the opportunity to nurture your relationship

  • 30 mins of daily engagement - this includes commenting on posts in your niche, participating on other accounts and celebrating your followers posts
